My Account
1Why can't I renew my items online?
Most materials may be renewed once. Books and audiobooks may be renewed up to two (2) times.
You might not be able to renew an item online if you have reached your renewal limit, or the item may be on hold for another library patron. If you are unable to renew online, please give us a call.
2Why can't I place a hold on an item?
You may have up to 30 unfilled holds at one time. However, some items, such as reference materials and equipment, may not be placed on hold. New materials belonging to other Evergreen libraries often have a six-month age protection and cannot be placed on hold by nonresident cardholders. If you have any trouble placing a hold, contact us!
3How do fines work?
Thorntown Library is proud to be fine-free. That means we do not charge overdue fines to patrons who check materials out at Thorntown. We do, however, charge for materials that have been checked out for an extended time. At 14 days overdue, patrons will receive an overdue notification via email (if address is on file) and/or by mail. At 28 days, patrons will receive a notification (email and/or mail) stating the items have been marked lost and fees have been added to the account.
Please note that overdue fines can still be accrued if materials are checked out at other Evergreen libraries.
4How can I pay my fines?
Fines may be paid by cash or check at any Evergreen member library. You may also pay by credit or debit card by logging into your account via the online catalog. There is a service charge for paying via card online. Fines are 25 cents per item per day. Damaged and lost fees vary by the owning library. Unpaid fines/fees in excess of $10.00 will result in suspension of borrowing privileges.
